ANVC Joins the World Stroke Organisation (WSO)
ANVC became the ONLY non-physician professional membership organization in the world to join the WSO after a Board vote last week. Soon ANVC members will be able to join the WSO for $60/year for members from an A-categorized country (USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and most of western European countries) and $25 for a member from a B-categorized country. Since ANVC has international members, this membership provides access to international conversations in stroke. Exact details on how to join the WSO will be sent in the coming days.

Members who join WSO via ANVC would have online access to journal as well as access to all other WSO benefits including:

• Free subscription and online access to the International Journal of Stroke (IJS), a peer reviewed, high impact journal for stroke clinicians
• Discount on the registration fee for future World Stroke Congresses
• Receipt of the WSO newsletter
• Right to apply for WSO travel fellowships and awards
• Access to Webcasts/podcasts of congress sessions
• Listing in and access to the WSO Membership Directory
• Right to vote for, be nominated or elected to the Board of Directors
• Membership certificate
• Participation in WSO committee activities and projects
• Access to Stroke Connector
• Research projects endorsement

Celebrate 2021 World Stroke Day on October 29 ANVC and the WSO
ANVC and the World Stroke Organization have partnered for a Joint Session highlighting the expanding nursing roles, clinical expertise and leadership in treating acute stroke at the 13^th World Stroke Conference held virtually on 10/28-10/29. The co-sponsored session, “The Sky’s the Limit: Expanding Stroke Nursing Roles and Expertise” will be moderated by ANVC President-Elect, Anne Alexandrov, and feature:

• Mobile Stroke Unit Nursing Roles – Skye Coote (Australia)
• Expanded Stroke Specialist Role – Sheeba Philip (UK)
• Nursing roles in Neuro-Interventional Catheterization Labs – Abbigayle Doerr (USA)
• Nurse Scientist Role Expansion – Ansley Stanfill (USA)
