This program is designed for physicians, sonographers, technologists, and other health care professionals seeking to acquire the skill sets and knowledge base required to apply, perform, and interpret Transcranial Doppler (TCD) and Transcranial Doppler Imaging (TCDI) studies. Didactic lectures and daily faculty-guided hands-on scanning sessions will provide learners with the opportunity to view and practice TCD and TCDI techniques. Interactive case studies will serve to further develop interpretation skills and clarify the role of TCD/TCDI in the management of patients with cerebrovascular disease. Lectures will cover the various settings in which TCD is performed including the diagnostic laboratory, emergency room, neurocritical care unit, operating rooms, and endovascular procedure rooms. In addition, this TCD course will allow attendees to be eligible for the Neurosonology Exam and acquire the RPNI credential because it meets the requirement of the 100 TCD case studies and interpretation specified by the American Society of Neuroimaging.
