"Finally, a course that fills the void in the education needed for the 21st century role of a stroke coordinator!
I was recently part of the pilot group of stroke coordinators who had the opportunity to take (and pass) the first offering of the ANVC’s Advanced Stroke Coordinator, Board Certification. To say this was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever undertaken is an understatement.
The course content was very comprehensive, and I placed my faith in the teaching styles of the course instructors (Alicia Richardson, Wendy Dusenbury, Anne Alexandrov and Sherri Greif) to present all materials in a manner I could not only retain, but also apply to my day-to-day work as a stroke coordinator. I have to say, they did not let me down!
My knowledge growth from the ASC course surpassed any and all expectations (this is coming from someone already certified as an SCRN with almost 12 years of nursing experience). This course greatly increased my ability to diagnose and manage acute stroke patients, allowing me to build skills in advanced neuroimaging, evidence-based management principles, data analyses and presentation, quality management, how to provide effective educational programs, and change mastery. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to excel in the role of stroke coordinator!"
