November 2019 welcomed ANVCs annual installation of new officers and board members.
Sharon Biby, MSN, APRN, ANVP-BC, AGPCNP-BC took the seat of President after serving as Vice-President under Wendy Dusenbury, DNP, RN, ASC-BC, AGACNP-BC, FNP, ANVP-BC for the past year. Sharon is the Advanced Practice Stroke Nurse at Cone Health in Greensboro, NC, a multi-hospital system that includes a Comprehensive Stroke Center, a Primary Stroke Center and an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital. She has worked in stroke since 2002 as both a nurse practitioner and stroke coordinator. She was one of the first graduates of NET SMART AP, was in the first ANVP certification group and was an inaugural member of ANVC.
As Sharon desires the best for stroke patients, she is dedicated to helping each of you grow in your stroke knowledge and expertise. As the president of ANVC, she hopes to continue organizational growth to meet those goals.
“In-depth stroke knowledge is not something we as nurses learn during routine schooling. I think it is important to create learning platforms that will help us who care for stroke become stroke experts. I am committed to helping the organization become just that. I look forward to serving you. Because Stroke Patients Deserve Nothing Less!!”
